Open gypsy safaris

Chambal river meander near Garadia Mahadev, Mukundra Hills

Safaris here are open Maruti Gypsy drives with a Forest Department guide. There is no canter product on this site because a live, reserve-wide canter tariff is not a verified public fact. Confirm vehicle, gate and today’s fee with the Forest office before you leave Kota.

Morning 6:00 AM – 10:00 AM · Evening 2:30 PM – 6:00 PM · Indicative gypsy ₹4,500

The drive

You report at the gate printed on your permit — Darrah, Daulatganj / Garadia, Ramganj Mandi or another allotted entry. The gypsy stays on authorised forest roads. Typical duration is one morning or evening slot, not an all-day walk and not a trek in the core.

What you may see

Tiger is the flagship, not a promise. Leopard, sloth bear, chital, sambar, nilgai, langur and the Chambal gorge are the honest story. In winter, light and birds are kinder. In summer, waterholes can concentrate animals if you can take the heat.

Rules that keep the forest wild

  • Carry government photo ID. Report about 30 minutes early.
  • No walking the core, no drones, no litter, no loud music.
  • No playback of animal calls. No feeding. No getting off the gypsy except where the guide allows.
  • Stay behind railings at Garadia. The gorge is part of the same reserve story, not a stunt viewpoint.
