How to reach

Garadia Mahadev viewpoint over the Chambal, Mukundra Hills Tiger Reserve

Mukundra is a long hill corridor, not a single park gate. Confirm which entry is written on the permit the night before. A Kota hotel plus a pre-booked cab for the morning slot is how most visitors actually do this.

By road

Kota is the hub on NH-52 / Hadoti roads. Darrah lies east of the city towards the old sanctuary. Daulatganj / Garadia is a closer Kota-side option when issued. Ramganj Mandi serves another edge of the same hill system. Use only the gate on your permit.

By train

Kota Junction is a major stop on Delhi–Mumbai and Jaipur–Bhopal lines. Overnight trains work well for a dawn gypsy: arrive, sleep in the city, leave before first light.

By air

Kota Airport has limited flights. Jaipur International (~250 km) is the practical airport. Allow a half-day road transfer; do not plan a same-morning safari off a delayed flight.

  • Report 30 minutes early. Morning 6:00 AM – 10:00 AM · Evening 2:30 PM – 6:00 PM.
  • Carry government ID for every adult. Keep a copy of the permit on your phone and on paper.
  • No drones, litter, playback of calls, or feeding. Closed shoes and a warm layer help on winter mornings.
  • In monsoon, call the office the day you travel — core tracks often close after rain.
